The Modern and Post-Modern Experiment
Secular Humanism
“We have watched an experiment going on in Europe now for the last several decades of advanced societies that are effectively secular…
…In human history, there has never been an advanced society that was secular the way that Europe is now.
And I will antagonise some viewers, maybe get supported by others when I say I think the results are very troubling”…

“Over half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recallhearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: ‘Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened’”…

“Foucault’s journey shows how much of the radical left gradually replaced Marx’s economic revolution with cultural revolution
, and then, when that failed to produce meaning, began romanticising movements that stood against the West altogether.
Foucault wasn’t alone. Jean-Francois Lyotard, Jacques Derrida, and Richard Rorty,the main voices of postmodernism and deconstruction, all rejected the idea of absolute truth.They taught generations of students that morality, reason, and reality itself are “social constructs”.
That’s the foundation of relativism: no truth, no objective good or evil, just “perspectives”.
Once you destroy truth, you destroy moral hierarchy.
And once there’s no hierarchy, the West can no longer claim its values, democracy, freedom, women’s rights, human dignity, are better than any other system.
That’s how postmodernism opened the door for a strange and dangerous alliance”…

“But the libertarian liberal ideology is nonsense. Europe is dying of this selfish delirium.
The U.N. elites dream of a world government that would rule peoples, cultures, and traditions that were formerly so different. It is a dream that borders on madness and is a sign of the contempt of the peoples for their riches” …

“We are building a dictatorship of relativism that recognises nothing as definitive and whose ultimate goal consists solely of one’s own ego and desires” …
— Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger

Can such a Modern & Post-Modern Society embrace the idea of Reason [LINK] and Science & Scientific Inquiry without the notion of Truth?;
What is the telos of education if it is no longer the pursuit of truth? [LINK] [LINK] [LINK] [LINK];
What are the ethics and values (i.e. the North Star) that guide our ideas & behaviours if there are no longer transcendental normative sciences such as Truth, Aesthetics (Beauty), Ethics (Justice) - The Good - Christian Platonism [LINK]?;
How do we explain the intelligibility of Reality [LINK] in a World of Atheism [LINK] and Materialism [LINK]?;
If Reality is now a subjective Marxist social construct [LINK] [LINK] grounded in the Primacy of Human Consciousness [LINK] [LINK] and Primacy of Man [LINK] who determines such a Reality, and what are the implications of a Human Being’s Nietzschean Will to Power [LINK]?; and
If the increasing Hobbesian [LINK] centralisation of power in the State, rather than God’s Will and a Natural Divine Order [LINK], determines Human Rights and Moral Duties (in contrast to John Locke’s Natural rights and Moral Duties [LINK]), do such rights and duties become subjective, relativistic and susceptible to powerful interests [LINK] (e.g. Corporatism - Fascism - the merger of Corporations and the State [LINK] [LINK] [LINK]).

“Supposing there was no intelligence behind the universe, no creative mind. In that case, nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking. It is merely that when the atoms inside my skull happen, for physical or chemical reasons, to arrange themselves in a certain way, this gives me, as a by-product, the sensation I call thought. But, if so, how can I trust my own thinking to be true? It’s like upsetting a milk jug and hoping that the way it splashes itself will give you a map of London. But if I can’t trust my own thinking, of course I can’t trust the arguments leading to Atheism, and therefore have no reason to be an Atheist, or anything else.Unless I believe in God, I cannot believe in thought: so I can never use thought to disbelieve in God”…
